Combinatorial and algebraic aspects of geometric structures – Conference in Thailand, with the cooperation of Korea, Luxembourg, Singapore, Thailand and the United States

Venue:
Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Dates:
Conference: 22-26 July 2019. ( Poster for the Conference )
Preliminary lectures: 18-19 July 2019. ( Poster for the Preliminary )

Aims and scopes of the conference:

The main conference will focus on geometric structures on manifolds and spaces of such structures. The classical Fricke-Teichmüller space for surfaces provides the key prototype, and has multiple interpretations as simultaneously the space of hyperbolic, conformal, and complex structures. The focus of the workshop includes modern investigation of this space (curve complex techniques, Teichmüller /WP/Lipschitz geometry, etc), generalizations to other geometric structures associated to surfaces (flat structures, higher Teichmüller theory, etc), and applications to the study of other associated objects (e.g. mapping class groups, bundles, 3-manifolds etc).

Speakers for the conference:

Basmajian, Ara (The City University of New York, USA),
Bridgeman, Martin (Boston College, USA),
Canary, Dick (University of Michigan, USA),
